How many Synods will it take?
The Telegraph Online has this article about the next C of E Synod. The question of women bishops - not so much a question of as a question how soon - will be joined, in the corridors at least, by the question of gay "marriage". We (they) have gone too far in both directions to the extent that no retreat is possible. In my recent experience disagreement on some gay issues is likely to bring the accusation of "homophobia". The Archbishop of York's latest intervention has led to him being described the "Archbigot" and there has been a gathering of protestors outside the Minister. In some cases dialogue on gay issues is no longer possible. It will not be long now before a more clearly defined realignment takes place. Orthodox Anglicans will either join the Ordinariate, become an Evangelical enclave or move towards the Orthodox. Ecumenism with Anglicans will continue but with no longer any hope of Christian unity as far as the Church of England and the Episcopalians are concerned. How many synods will it take?

Deuteronomy Chap.22 5
ReplyDeleteThe woman shall not wear man,s clothing, nor shall a man put on a woman,s garment / for all that do so are abomination unto the LORD thy God.
Are those women going to a costume party?
