This is a statue outside the sacristy of the Cathedral/Parish Church (?) at Lanciano. It is called, "Our Lady of the Bridge". I had the impression that the group was meant to arrive somewhere else for Mass. Cardinal Toppo, who was the main concelebrant, said that he though it was no coincidence for a group such as ours - dedicated to christian unity - to find ourselves in a church with such a dedication. I do not know - yet - anything of the history of this devotion but I will certainly do some research. From here we went to view the Eucharistic Miracle.
