Another - and even better - version of "Ave Verum"

Hail, true Body, born of the Virgin Mary, who having truly suffered, was sacrificed on the cross for mankind, whose pierced side flowed with water and blood: May it be for us a foretaste [of the Heavenly banquet] in the trial of death.

This part is not in the musical performance: Oh dear Jesus, Oh merciful Jesus, Oh Jesus, son of Mary, have mercy on me. Amen.

This is a truly beautiful performance of Mozart's great work. Please listen to it. It is especially powerful at the end. Tomorrow I have a day of Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament in my parish to encourage parishioners to come and pray for the Holy Father's intentions (his 60th anniversary of ordination). He has asked for prayers for the sanctification of priests and for vocations to the priesthood.
