Archbishop Hilarion Alfeyev of Volokolamsk (Russian Orthodox) has predicted (here) that the 21st Century will see a new springtime of Christianity which will include Christian Unity. This is an extraordinary intervention from a relatively young Orthodox theologian. The Archbishop has a special role in relation to the World Council of Churches. He seems to be something of a musician and composer as well as being a superb communicator. At present I am reading his introduction to the Orthodox Faith, which I highly recommend. The pages on prayer alone are worth the cost. It can be obtained through Amazon although I was fortunate to get my copy in an SPCK sale some years ago. This is a man to watch.
