Now we know why "Chalice" in the new translation IS correct!

Sister Sue Rakoczy IHM (Servants of Immaculate Mary), a lecturer in spirituality and dogmatic theology who has spent many years in South Africa and taught in the U.S. says that Christ did NOT celebrate the first Mass at the Last Supper. Read it here. If I was at all hesitant about the use of the word "Chalice" in the new translation, I am no longer. I would stick my neck out and say the choice of that word was inspired by the Holy Spirit. I wonder what other interesting unorthodox views the good sister holds. I'm sure she did great work in Africa but I will not be reading any of her articles or - should she write any - books.

  1. "I tell you the truth, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you" (John 6:53).

What on earth (and heaven!) is this protestant woman doing, posing as a Roman Catholic nun and writing as one in a Roman Catholic publication?

Her beliefs are so obviously out of accord with Church teaching, yet she espouses them as if they are authentic Catholic truth. She should go on sabbatical (do nuns do that?) and get some solid teaching in order to correct her errors, also say two rosaries a day to banish heretical tendencies.

If this is not pleasing to her, at least be upfront about where her beliefs are headed.
